Do you have a question about the team duties? Then get in touch with the relevant committee. Check the ‘contact persons overview’ via the VVA Community for their contact details.
No referees, no matches!
That’s why Nevobo requires clubs to provide referees. This is part of VVA’s Refereeing Policy. Be sure to read it carefully before the season starts: it explains exactly what is expected from you and your team, and when.
The refereeing committee organizes, instructs, and coordinates, but the team itself is responsible for fulfilling its duties. In short:
All VVA members must successfully complete the Nevobo Rules Test, regardless of whether you will referee matches within your team or not. This ensures every player has a solid understanding of the rules and allows you to referee up to the 3rd class. Nevobo provides an online learning environment to practice and pass the test.
Each team is also required to provide referees. Depending on the level, an additional license may be needed. See the policy.
For Dames 1 and Heren 1 matches, an official scorer is required. Teams are assigned for this.
On match days and training evenings, there is always a team responsible for hall duty. Sometimes equipment isn't stored properly and sports hall rules aren't followed. The hall duty team supervises this and ensures match days run smoothly: do teams start on time? Is there a referee present?
Check the instructions BEFORE your first hall duty to know what is expected!
HOW FUN! We actually run our very own VVA Café! The management of the canteen is in our hands, which means we get to decide a lot ourselves, like the menu, decoration, and which activities we want to organize.
The bar manager and bar committee take care of everything behind the scenes. Would you like to help out? Please sign up: extra enthusiastic hands are always welcome!
Bar shifts? We handle those together. This means that you and your team will also spend a few fun shifts behind the bar. A great way to get to know more VVA members ;)
Check the bar manual so you know what it means to work behind the bar.
Once the training and match schedules are set, the bar committee will create the bar shift roster. You can find it here >
NOTE: As a team, you are responsible for arranging substitutes (or extra help) if you can’t make your shifts.
Every team has a captain, who has a number of responsibilities. You can read more about them here >>
As a team, you’re behind the bar, refereeing matches, playing your games, and dancing (and drinking?) your heart out in the canteen. But who makes sure there’s a bar roster, that parties actually happen, that matches can be rescheduled, and that, for example, a referee schedule is in place?
In addition to the team duties, there are plenty of committees and volunteer roles that you can also join! Not only are they needed, but they’re also super fun :)

Want to help out behind the bar? Join the Bartoppers group! Sign up for an extra bar shift now and then, and you’ll even earn drink vouchers :)
