A club is only as strong as the commitment of its members, and as the saying goes: many hands make light work! That’s why, even though everyone is busy, volunteers are so important and valued. The more people who help out, the more fun it stays for everyone :)
There’s always something we can use your help and expertise for, whether it’s a one-time task or ongoing, big or small! The Volunteer Coordinator oversees all committees and can answer any questions you have. So don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to know more about a specific role, how much time it roughly requires, who else is in a committee, and so on! Check out the openings below.
Head of Technical Committee: the club is looking for a new Head TC! This role can also be shared as a duo. It’s a combination of leadership (guiding TC members) and hands-on tasks.
Match Secretary: a flexible, communicative role. If teams want to reschedule matches, this goes through you. In the Nevobo system, you handle requests for match changes and also receive requests from opponents, which you then communicate to VVA team captains.
Sponsorship Committee: sponsors create an extra source of income for the club. Want to help with this? The committee is looking for a coordinator / doer—someone who can turn ideas into action. Experience would be a big plus!
C-Youth Coordinator: this role is part of the Youth Committee. You are the point of contact for C-youth players and parents (four small teams), monitor team development, advise the youth TC on team selection, and manage the waiting list. There is a youth committee meeting every two months. The nice part: you focus only on the C-youth, but you’ll have fellow coordinators in similar roles, so you can always consult and collaborate.
Set-Up Club Members: do you enjoy being in contact with other volleyball clubs in Amsterdam and engaging with volleyball more broadly? The Set-Up Club is a collaboration between several Amsterdam clubs, supported by Nevobo. We’re looking for two people to represent VVA. One will act as the main VVA representative and attend all Set-Up Club meetings. The other will be the right-hand support, helping with follow-up actions. Together, you’ll also stay in touch with the VVA board.
Bar Committee – Communication Focus: join the friendly bar committee, with a specific focus on communication towards teams and the club—for example, informing teams about bar duties or highlighting specific themes.
Activities Committee: always looking for extra hands! Both organizers and creative minds are welcome. This team focuses on fun events and activities off the court.
Tournament Committee: helps organize the Frits de Wever tournament and possibly other fun tournaments.
Volunteer Committee: do you enjoy motivating fellow VVA members and implementing policies? Join the volunteer committee, led by the volunteer coordinator.
Communication Committee: looking for members who want to take on specific communication tasks, in coordination with the committee led by Fenna (board – communication). Think of updating the website, managing Instagram, taking photos, writing news updates, designing flyers, or creating newsletters. We’ll look together at what suits you best!
Flexible roles and themes: feel free to contact the volunteer coordinator. In addition to the roles above, there are always smaller tasks or themes where help is welcome.
