In most cases, teams and members are not exactly eager to referee. Unfortunately, it is simply a fact: no referee, no match! That is why the Nevobo relies on clubs to provide referees.
Despite the mandatory nature of refereeing, the refereeing committee tries to make refereeing as easy and enjoyable as possible for all members.
The Refereeing Committee coordinates refereeing within VVA. The committee consists of Edwin and Yvette, with support from Amr.
You can contact the committee with any questions about guidance, free training courses you can take, an explanation of the refereeing policy, help registering for matches to referee, and more.
For contact details, please see the contact list, which can be found via the description of the WhatsApp community.
To ensure that the workload is distributed fairly among the teams, a refereeing policy has been established. It is in Dutch, how lucky that such things as AI and google translate exists ;). Please read it carefully before the start of the season. Having a better understanding of the Nevobo rules will also help you and your team understand what is expected of you and why.
VVA teams up to and including the 1st class referee each other’s home matches (see the refereeing policy). Each team is required to referee a certain number of matches per half-season and can sign up for these matches themselves.
The Refereeing Committee will let you know when registration opens.
You can then use the specially created website to choose which match(es) you would like to referee.
