Trainings start in August and continue through May. In August, a special summer schedule is sometimes introduced, featuring more informal combined training sessions (for example, D1 and D2 training together). This depends somewhat on how the summer holiday period falls. From late April/May onwards, an adjusted training schedule is introduced in preparation for forming the new teams. During this period, players from outside VVA may also join to see whether there is a suitable spot for them within the club.
Training days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Each team trains once per week. Teams competing in the Promotion Class and higher (usually) train twice per week.
Training times: These depend on the training location. Most sessions last 1 hour and 45 minutes (with some exceptions of 1.5 or 2 hours). Training sessions never start earlier than 19:00 and never later than 21:15.
Trainers: There are a number of external coaches, but most teams are coached by enthusiastic VVA members. In addition to being great fun, coaching comes with benefits: at minimum, your membership fee is reimbursed, and you have the opportunity to follow an official coaching course. The Train-the-Trainers Committee supports all coaches.
Sports Hall Laan van Spartaan: our cozy home base WITH our own Kantine :). Get ready for plenty of (unexpectedly) fun Saturdays and evenings! Open Google Maps >>
Unfortunately, there is not enough hall capacity at Laan van Spartaan to accommodate all training sessions. That’s why we also make use of the following sports halls:

Our home matches take place on Saturdays at Laan van Spartaan. We play four match rounds, starting at 12:30, 14:45, 17:00, and 19:15. With a Kantine that we run ourselves and stands overlooking the courts, it’s always a great atmosphere! So make sure to block those home match days in your calendar.
The (draft) match schedule is usually published in August by the Nevobo. Download the “Mijn Volleybal” app to easily check match times, locations, results, standings, and any schedule changes.
Would your team like to reschedule a match? Please contact our club’s match secretary to arrange this officially (see the contact details in the Community’s contact overview).
